Samsung R&D Institute Japan (SRJ) was established in 1997 with only about 30 founder members.

SRJ aims to become a “customer value creating R&D institute” that is able to accurately assess technological trends and customer demands to propose valuable technologies and solutions. To accomplish it, SRJ puts their utmost efforts into fundamental technologies, interdisciplinary applied researches, and R&D activities that stretch out to wide range of technology fields.

With support from internal/external relevant departments, SRJ strives for knowledge in the fundamentals of science and technology through R&D activities to strengthen competitiveness and solidify technological foundations.
