Samsung Philippines Visits AdNU for its Developer Communities Workshops

Samsung, in our continuous efforts to further increase reach and gain traction among university IT and engineering students, held the second Developer Communities Workshop for 2022 at the Ateneo de Naga University last June 17. It was the first face-to-face event for the students and faculty who attended after quarantine measures across the Philippines have relaxed.

The event was divided into two main sessions. The morning session were a series of talks and presentations from representatives of Samsung Philippines. Participants learned about mobile technology, Samsung’s initiatives in relation to open source software, as well as our activities regarding Mobile Service Operations. A Galaxy Tech Van was stationed outside the venue to answer questions the students may have about their Samsung mobile device and get free Samsung merchandise while doing so.

In the afternoon, two simultaneous hands-on workshops attended by select students were held. In one workshop, participants learned about Samsung’s wearable technologies and got firsthand experience creating watch faces through the Watch Face Studio. The other session talked about foldable technologies and the attendees developed adaptive web interfaces for these with the help of a facilitator. The Samsung team also brought with them devices where the students were able to see what they have created in action.
