SVP Charlie Zhang re-elected as Chair of the FiRa Consortium

We are pleased to announce that in the recently concluded FiRa Board Officer elections, both Charlie Zhang (SVP of SRA, and SRA-SMI Lab Head) and Clint Chaplin (Sr. Principal Engineer in SRA-SMI) were re-elected. Charlie Zhang was re-elected as Chair of the Board for another term, and Clint was re-elected as Secretary.

These elections reflect the strength both Charlie and Clint have brought to their roles, and the effective leadership that has been shown in growing the FiRa consortium, and by extension, the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) ecosystem. The FiRa consortium has thus entrusted Charlie and Clint to further provide leadership on their continued growth path.

The FiRa consortium is designed to grow the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) ecosystem so new use cases for fine ranging capabilities can thrive, ultimately setting a new standard in seamless user experiences. The FiRa name, which stands for "Fine Ranging," highlights UWB technology's unique ability to deliver unprecedented accuracy when measuring the distance or determining the relative position of a target.
