SRPH successfully concludes the 2019 Samsung Algo Challenge

Open to students and professionals all over the Philippines, the Samsung Algo Challenge is a software programming contest hosted the Samsung R&D Institute – Philippines (SRPH) in order to find the best software talent in the country.

This year’s Samsung Algo Challenge was successfully concluded last October 19. 600 participants took on the challenge to solve various algorithm problems that were released over a span of 2 weeks. The Top 10 finalists were selected in the presence of a DTI representative and were invited to the SRPH offices in McKinley Hill, Taguig to participate in the final round.

The top 10 participants, composed of both professionals and students from the top schools in the Philippines, are as follows: Kirk Bamba, Austin Fernandez, Kelly Milla, Franz Louis Cesista, Dan Baterisna, John Eddie Ayson, Gerard Ortega, Bryan Arson, Mel Rogene Natividad, and James Plaras

Many are participating in an event in a meeting room.

After a rigorous 4-hour session, Dan Baterisna emerged victorious and got 1st place, while Franz Louis Cesista and Bryan Ayson got second and third place, respectively. All the finalists got to bring home Samsung gadgets.
- 1st place: Galaxy Note 10, 2nd Place: Galaxy A70, 3rd place: Galaxy Watch, other finalists: Galaxy Buds.

The participation of the Filipino youth in the Samsung Algo Challenge holds promise for the technological advancement of the Philippines, and the success of this event shows that Filipino developers are capable of advanced development.
