Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) has recently organized the SRBD Code Contest 2022. This contest is a monumental part of SRBD’s efforts to create a culture of problem solving and research amongst Computer Science students in Bangladesh. The contest featured more than 1600 students from 65 prestigious universities in Bangladesh.

The contest was held in three different stages. The 1st Round of this year’s SRBD Code Contest was held on August 16th, 2022, where all 1600 participants competed in an online problem-solving session. After this round, 348 students were selected for the 2nd Round, which was held on September 23rd, 2022. From this round, the Top 40 participants were selected for the Final Round, which was held inside the SRBD premises in Dhaka. 

The Final Round took place on September 29th, from which 10 winners were selected. An award ceremony was organized for the winners on the same date. The ceremony was graced with the presence of Mr. Wonmo Ku, Managing Director of SRBD, and Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, the Honorable State Minister for ICT, as special guests.

Mr Wonmo Ku spoke about the huge potential of young engineers in Bangladesh, and how the SRBD Code Contest can help such talent flourish. Mr Zunaid Ahmed Palak talked about how contests such as this can motivate the youth of Bangladesh, and how the participation of the youth in ICT will greatly boost the growth of the sector in this country.

 Afterwards, the Top 10 winners were presented with awards and certificates. The Champion, and 2 runners-up of the SRBD Code Contest were presented with trophies, and all the top 10 contestants were presented with certificates. The Top 10 contestants of the SRBD Code Contest 2022 featured students from 6 leading universities in Bangladesh, including BUET, Dhaka University, KUET, IUT, Jahangirnagar University, and SUST.
