On 8th February, 2024, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) organized the first ever AI PoC (Proof of Concept) Exhibition in its history. The event took place in the SRBD Cafeteria amid great fanfare as employees flocked to the event to support their colleagues in this showcase of the talent and dedication in the field of Generative AI and Machine Learning.

It originated with the AI PoC Idea Contest in late 2023, when the engineers proposed ideas to develop with AI. Later on, the engineers were encouraged to refine and hone their AI skills and showcase it to the rest of the organization via this exhibition. All successful AI PoCs developed for the competition were on display at the event. 10 PoCs were selected to be displayed at the exhibition, making this the event with the most exhibits in the history of SRBD.

The main event started with a marvelous speech from Md. Manjurul Karim, Head of SW R&D. Afterwards, the exhibition was opened up to the public, where they could view the 10 AI PoC Booths and then vote on their favorite ones. This is the first time in SRBD history that live polling was done to determine the winners of a PoC contest, for which voting booths were setup in the lift lobby.

There were giveaway prizes available at each exhibition booth, as well as a raffle draw for those who participated in the voting. More than 300 employees voted in the competition, making this one of the most attended events in SRBD history.

A wonderful closing ceremony took place at the end of the event, starting with the announcement of raffle draw winners. Following this, the most anticipated moment arrived and the winners of the contest were declared amid a vibrant atmosphere. Afterwards, the Managing Director of SRBD, Wonmo Ku, gave a moving speech where he applauded the participants for their perseverance, as well as emphasized on the importance of improving on AI and Machine Learning skills.
