On 10^th February, 2023, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) celebrated its 13^th Foundation Day. The event took place at the SRBD cafeteria, with hundreds of SRBD employees in attendance.

Back in February, 2011, SRBD started its journey as the first ever R&D center set up by a multinational company in Bangladesh. Over the years, SRBD has managed to become an integral part within the worldwide network of R&D centers of Samsung Electronics.

SRBD’s 13^th Foundation Day event started off with a wonderful introductory speech by Mr. Tarique Rahman Khan, Head of the People Part. The new expat of SRBD, Mr. David Yoo, was also introduced to everyone. Afterwards, a video was displayed where well-wishers of SRBD congratulated SRBD on 13 years of operation.

This included Mr. Hans Kim, VP, Head of Open Innovation Group (Samsung Research), Mr. JK Yang, VP, Head of Application R&D Team (MX Division), Dr. Namkyu Lee, former MD of SRBD, and Mr. Daniel Kim, MD of Samsung R&D Institute Jordan (SRJO), and the former CFO of SRBD.

Later on, the honorable Managing Director of SRBD, Mr. Wonmo Ku was invited on stage to present a long-service award to all employees who have completed their 5^th and 10^th anniversaries of service at SRBD. Then, a fun and interactive Quiz Contest was hosted, where people from the audience were allowed to participate for some exciting prizes.

Next, the awards for the Top Performers of 2022 were presented. The program ended with a marvelous speech from the MD, as he urged the engineers of SRBD to achieve new heights after a great and productive year of 2022. The event ended with cake cutting ceremony, where 4 large cakes in the shape of the letters ‘SRBD’ were brought in and cut to celebrate the 13^th Foundation Day of SRBD.
