Celebrating Success, Charting the Future: SRBD Q2 Townhall


Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) organized the Townhall program for Q2 of 2024 on July 11th. The event highlighted the achievements of the first half of 2024, inspiring all employees to strive for even greater success in the second half. Additionally, the new CFO, Mr. Seikwon Kim, was formally introduced to the employees in the event. The theme for the Townhall was ‘Honoring Achievement, Inspiring Aspiration’.

The event began with an introductory speech by S M Shajjad Hossain Shajib, Manager of Project Management, followed by Md. Manjurul Karim, Head of SW R&D, who highlighted the achievements of the first half of 2024 and outlined plans for the second half.

Next, Wahidur Rahman, Head of the R&D Operations Group, presented updates on innovation, shared the success of the AI POC exhibition, and emphasized the importance of utilizing various tools to enhance engineers' work efficiency.


To keep the audience engaged, a quiz contest was held where participants had the opportunity to answer questions about Samsung products and win gift vouchers. In the contest, five lucky winners were awarded gift vouchers.


Following the quiz contest, Md. Shaiful Islam, Head of People Part took the stage to provide management updates. He highlighted ongoing initiatives such as mental health programs, improved health insurance, and the renovation of the cafeteria. For the next segment, Wonmo Ku, the Managing Director of SRBD, was then invited to the stage to present the employee awards, recognizing SRBD's top-performing employees for their outstanding contributions to the organization.


Once the awards presentation concluded, the newly appointed CFO, Mr. Seikwon Kim, introduced himself, sharing his experience with Samsung Electronics and expressing his optimism about his new role in managing SRBD.

In the final part of the event, Wonmo Ku took the stage to commend the employees for their efforts, which contributed to the achievements of the first half of the year, including development milestones and meeting patent targets. He also encouraged engineers to enhance their AI skills to keep up with the latest trends. He concluded his speech with high expectations for the second half of the year.
