2024 Tizen Partner Summit: A Blend of Innovation, Insight and Inspiration

This year we held our annual European Tizen Partner Summit, for the first time in Poland. It was hosted at our Samsung R&D Institute Poland office in the Warsaw Spire building. The event takes place annually and focuses on new features and technical insights within the Smart Signage, Hospitality TV and Tizen ecosystem. This year’s Summit was an insightful blend of lectures, presentations and networking opportunities.

It was a gathering that not only showcased our latest technological advancements, but also fostered an environment of knowledge sharing and inspiration. We welcomed over 80 Samsung Business Partners from different backgrounds, industries and roles – CEOs, CTOs, developers, product managers and more.

Day 1: New Lineup Reveal and Partners’ Success Stories

The first day focused on the introduction of technological novelties, including the Samsung signage and hospitality lineup for the upcoming year and the long anticipated e-paper, which undoubtedly stole the show. It signifies Samsung’s commitment towards sustainability by allowing businesses to reduce the power consumption to almost 0.00 W when displaying static images.

The main agenda for the day was enriched by innovative lectures from prominent Samsung Partners. They shared their invaluable insights and sparked enthusiasm among attendees. The sessions by guest speakers covered a wide range of topics:

Nexmosphere and Evexi – “Nexmosphere Integration” which summarizes the joint efforts of Samsung engineers to open up a world of new possibilities by adding interactivity to smart signage which as a result, is expected to increase impact by creating more engaging experiences.

First Impression – “Digital Signage: SI perspective” discussed their experiences with Tizen platform in the context of creating mesmerizing audiovisual installations.

Toyota Motor Europe – “Toyota Success Story”. Samsung’s dedication was appreciated and contributed to the technological transformation of Toyota dealership centers.


Breaks in between the lectures allowed ample time for networking. This provided an opportunity for attendees to engage in discussions with R&D engineers to prepare the ground for new business opportunities. The open table with a variety of delicious food turned out to be a true hit among the guests and helped to create a perfect setting for idea exchange as well as more casual conversations.

Day 2: Smart Signage Tech Talks

The second day’s focus shifted to research and development with sessions from Samsung R&D members from three different R&D centers across the globe. The sessions aimed to offer theoretical insights as well as practical demonstrations:

"Tizen Business Manager" – Showcasing new features of TBM, especially enrolling devices by scanning their QR codes

"Tizen 7.0 Features" – Demonstrating newly added support for the front-end novelties

"Time Policy, Whitelist, App Certificate" – Presenting guidelines on how to navigate Tizen specific behavior
    
•    
"Smart Diagnostics" – Demonstrating a new approach towards collecting device logs
    
•    
“Remote Workspace” – Introducing a way of NFC card reader usage
    
•    
“Web GL” – Showcasing practical usage of JavaScript libraries for graphic creation
    
•    
“WASM + RTSP” – Introducing new ways to handle advance operations beyond regular web based technologies
    
•    
“AI: Generative AI” – Discussing market trends and how AI can enhance interactions with smart signage
    
•       
“SmartThings Pro” – Showcasing integration of screens with IoT and how the consumer solutions are being adjusted to meet B2B needs, responding to market requirements.


The interactive nature of these sessions encouraged guests to share their thoughts and feedback. Each lecture ended in a short Q&A, which very often turned into insightful and stimulating discourse.

Day 3: A Focus on Hospitality

The third day of the event was dedicated to Hotel TV. This new agenda was driven by the growing importance of this segment in Samsung’s lineup, mostly thanks to the introduction of TEP (Tizen Enterprise Platform), and the need to address new technological advancements being introduced within this field. This approach will provide more chances for the Signage partners to seek business opportunities at Hotel TV environment and the other way around.

The sessions on this day covered a range of topics, from newly introduced features, through the know-how’s and practical guides, to interactive demonstrations showcasing capabilities of Hotel TVs. Samsung engineers presented real-world examples to demonstrate how our products can make a difference in a hospitality environment. The presentations touched upon options available for customization of devices to meet the diverse needs of clients.
