On 12th February, 2024, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) celebrated its 14th Foundation Day. The event took place at the SRBD cafeteria, with hundreds of employees in attendance.

The event started with congratulatory messages from senior officials of Samsung Research on the magnificent journey of 14 years. In their speeches, they thanked SRBD for its contribution to the business of Samsung throughout the years. A presentation from Md. Manjurul Karim, Head of SW R&D Team, came in succession regarding the development achievements of 2023, along with the vision for the future. Afterwards, Wahidur Rahman, Head of R&D Operations Group, laid out the plan for innovation activities in conjunction with SW Quality Assessment, CI Automation, and future CSR initiatives.

Later, Muhammad Omar Faroque, Head of Finance, highlighted the updated financial policies and facilities for the employees. Following on, Tarique Rahman Khan, Head of Management Support Group, showcased additions in health benefits and a heightened focus on mental health management. Improvement in infrastructure was also announced.

The Managing Director of SRBD, Wonmo Ku, was then invited on stage to present the long-service award to all the employees who have completed their 5th and 10th anniversaries of service at SRBD. Next came the most cherished moment of the event, the yearly excellence awards. Top performers of 2023 received their awards directly from MD.

At the end of the event, MD gave a wonderful speech where he thanked the engineers for their herculean efforts in 2023, and announced an increased focus in skill development for the year 2024.

The event concluded with a cake cutting ceremony and a Pitha (local sweet delicacies) Festival, organized at the rooftop of the office building.
