Samsung Research America (SRA) is pleased to announce that Dr. Ardavan Tehrani, Director of Engineering at SRA, has been re-elected as Vice Chair of the AI-RAN Alliance Board of Directors.
This achievement highlights Samsung's steadfast dedication to advanced R&D, achieved through strong collaboration with its global partners in telecommunications and AI. Samsung has consistently demonstrated industry leadership through major investments in AI, 5G-Advanced, and 6G research.

As a founding member of the AI-RAN Alliance, Samsung is committed to advancing 6G innovations by integrating AI and Radio Access Network (RAN) technologies. Officially established at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona in 2024, the Alliance aims to accelerate the convergence of AI and Radio Access Networks through industry-wide cooperation. Its collaborative efforts focus on developing new AI-based technologies and enabling their application in commercial products for the upcoming 6G era.
Dr. Tehrani leads 6G-related activities in the U.S. In addition to serving as Vice Chair of the AI-RAN Alliance Board, he is also serving on the Board of US ITU Association (USITUA). He is a member of the FCC Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and a Co-chair of its AI/ML Softwarization sub-working group. Dr. Tehrani is also a member of the FCC WRC Advisory Committee (WAC), represents the U.S. delegation to WRC and CITEL, and sits on the Advocacy Advisory Board (AAB) of 5G Americas.
