Quiet Beginnings to Building for Millions: The Priyanshu Story

Seventeen years ago, Priyanshu joined Samsung as a quiet engineer from original Roorkee, stepping into a fast-moving world far bigger than anything he had experienced before.

Today, he is the Part Head of Ad Services & Solutions at Samsung R&D Institute Bangalore (SRI-B), leading teams across Program Management, Solution Engineering, and Technical Support for Samsung’s Ad Platform ecosystem.

Somewhere between writing code, building products used by millions, and collaborating with global teams, Priyanshu discovered something unexpected, confidence.

Looking back, Priyanshu believes many of the defining moments in his life were never carefully planned.

“They happened because I stayed open to learning and new experiences, Growth starts when you step outside your comfort zone.”

That mindset would eventually shape both his professional journey and personal growth at SRI-B.

When Priyanshu joined Samsung in 2009, mobile technology was evolving at incredible speed. Teams at SRI-B were working across platforms like SHP, Bada, Android, and Tizen to build experiences for users across markets.

“The pace pushed me to adapt quickly,” he recalls. “And the opportunities pushed me to interact, collaborate, and grow.”

Over the years, he moved across teams and technologies, from Regional Software Group to Samsung Browser, and eventually into large-scale platform ecosystems. But one of the defining chapters of his journey came when he became part of the founding team behind My Galaxy, Samsung’s unified consumer platform for India.

What began as a small incubation initiative inside SRI-B soon evolved into a platform with over one million daily active users, becoming one of Samsung’s most successful ecosystem platforms.

For Priyanshu, the project represented everything unique about SRI-B’s culture.

“It felt like building a startup within Samsung. There was trust, ownership, freedom to experiment, and leaders who encouraged us to think big.”

But beyond the scale and technology, the experience transformed him personally.

The project pushed him beyond engineering, into collaboration across teams, managing stakeholders, driving discussions, and solving problems at scale. Slowly, the engineer who once preferred staying behind the scenes began growing into a leader comfortable driving conversations, decisions, and impact.

“SRI-B created opportunities that pushed me out of my shell, over time, those experiences helped me become more adaptable and confident.”

Today, Priyanshu works closely with teams across India, the US, and Poland, helping drive execution and business impact for Samsung Ads.

Traveling to Samsung’s headquarters in Suwon and Singapore office, collaborating with global teams, and working across rapidly evolving technologies gave him exposure far beyond engineering. It taught him how to communicate, adapt, and lead in entirely new environments.

According to him, one of SRI-B’s biggest strengths is the trust it places in people.

Engineers are encouraged to move across domains, take ownership of large-scale products, and challenge themselves beyond defined roles.

“You are constantly evolving here, every new challenge teaches you something new.”

That environment shaped not just his career, but also his personality.

Looking back, Priyanshu believes growth rarely happens in one defining moment.

Sometimes it begins with an unfamiliar opportunity.
Sometimes with a challenge that feels bigger than you.
And sometimes, simply by saying yes.

At SRI-B, that mindset helped him build products at scale, lead global teams, and grow into a leader shaped by continuous learning, ownership, and trust.
