On July 14, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) completed one session of Junior Software Academy (JSA) Program for the Year 2023. This program is a part of Samsung’s CSR activities in Bangladesh and it is designed with the purpose of providing ICT education to underprivileged children studying in school as well as preparing them for a digital future. The organization has another session of this program in its planning for this year.
A total of 30 students from different NGOs were enrolled in the course in response to the proposal from SRBD. Classes were held every Friday, starting from May 12, 2023 to July 14, 2023 at SRBD.
The training content included Photoshop, basic Programming, MS Office applications, basic Math and introduction to mobile app development platforms like Android. Advanced technologies such as IoT, AR/VR, 360 cameras were featured in different stages of the program to encourage the learning of the students.
Students also got basic knowledge on Samsung consumer products and learned about the history of Samsung Electronics. There were practice sessions as well where they developed simple Android applications with the help of basic coding tools.
The closing ceremony was held at the SRBD premises. Mr Wonmo Ku, the Managing Director of SRBD, was the distinguished guest at the ceremony, along with representatives from the concern NGOs. The representatives expressed their satisfaction and gratitude for arranging this program. At the same time, students were equally inspired to be a part of it in their preparation for a successful professional career.
Upon completion of the course, students received certificates from the Management of SRBD. The ceremony ended with a group photo session of participants and trainers along with distinguished guests.
