Dynamic January in the Smart Signage Industry

January proved to be a pivotal month for the smart signage industry, with significant events providing opportunities for Samsung to make our mark, showcase products, and seize valuable business opportunities while keeping a keen eye on the activities of our competitors.

BETT: Shaping the Future of Education Technology

One standout event was The BETT Show, which was held in London, from the 24th to the 26th of January. It is the world’s biggest EdTech event, serving as a beacon for educational technology innovation. Samsung proudly set up its booth, attracting a diverse array of visitors from around the globe, including a notable delegation from the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan. Their keen interest in our collaborative solution with Shape Robotics underscored the relevance and effectiveness of our work.

Key showcased products were Flip, WAC and WAD (interactive E-boards). Moreover, the event unveiled the emerging trends such as the usage of AI for automatic customization of assessments and lessons, teaching programming languages through visual interfaces, and a growing emphasis on circular life practices, reflecting the industry’s commitment to sustainability.

Samsung R&D Institute Poland presence was crucial for conducting market research to identify potential education solution partners who could contribute to enriching Samsung Flip/WAC/WAD for the education market in Europe.

ISE2024: Pioneering Solutions at Integrated Systems Europe

Another highlight was the annual ISE2024 event held in Barcelona, which is one of the biggest global gatherings for application producers, manufacturers, and system integrators in the smart signage sector.
This year’s edition took place in Fira Barcelona Gran via hall, from January 30th to February 2nd. Unlike in 2023, this year Samsung’s booth was open to public, which resulted in a considerable number of attendees expressing their interest in our products.

Samsung R&D Institute Poland presence was notable, with a team of seven engineers actively engaging in guiding tours inside Samsung booth and educating guests about Samsung’s smart signage. Guests could sign up for the tours or leave their contact details using dedicated Kiosks. The application for handling their requests was developed by the members of B&S VD Tech Support team. Not only did the visitors have a chance to learn more about Samsung product portfolio, but also to meet with SSSP’s (Samsung Smart Signage Platform) and TEP’s (Tizen Enterprise Platform) most prominent partners in person. Each of them occupied a designated space in one of two booth sectors: either Retail or QSR. Among them were:

Dise – a Swedish retail tech company, founded in 2003 and supporting +1000 brands worldwide. Only recently partnered with Samsung but already managed to prove their professionalism and advanced level of technical expertise.
Manganelli – originating from France, working with Samsung for many years already, with a solid position on the market. They deliver their solution to many well-recognized brands, such as Decathlon, Auchan, Leroy Merlin, Intermarche.
Evexi – operates in the UK and develops for both SSSP and Kiosk. They are well recognized for their CMS since 2017. Their primary focus is to deliver a seamless user experience. A primary feature of said CMS, which makes it stand out among similar products of its competitors, is the ability to interact with screens in real-time via a mobile device as an “out of the box” feature.
Last, but not least, there is Visual Art – a leading digital signage company from Sweden, which delivers end-to-end solutions to clients all over the world. They have cooperated with Samsung for many years, they are technologically advanced and highly innovative.

2024 also marks the Year of VXT, a brand new intuitive, feature packed, and universally compelling Digital Signage CMS from Samsung, which was launched at a separate press conference held on January 31st in front of a conference room packed with journalists. Earlier that same day, four Samsung Business and Technical Teams from three continents held a technical session with System Integrators greatly interested in some technical insights.
