Most users always want to stay connected with their earbuds by communicating with others, playing music, or watching videos. This means that earbuds are always in use, especially among the younger generation. So, it is common for the user to be concerned about the device's health, and whether all functionalities are working fine in terms of usage over a long period. This has led Samsung to develop a Self-Diagnostics feature for wearables, including the Galaxy Buds. Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh (SRBD) contributed to the development of this Buds diagnostic provider, released to users on January 2023 as an update of the Galaxy Wearable application.
In many cases, users do not feel comfortable going to customer care for simple problems. In this context, the self-diagnostics feature will help the user to know if there are any issues with any functionality in the device. It also allows the user to make the right decision regarding device care when necessary. This can help to resolve minor issues before it becomes major. Samsung is committed to providing help to Galaxy Buds users to use the products in their best condition as long as possible. That is why Samsung provides diagnostics to troubleshoot device issues.
The self-Diagnostics feature allows the user to know more about the device status. This feature includes Speaker, Mic, Touch Sensor, Charging, and Software update checking, which will help users ensure their devices are working properly. Samsung developed the Self-Diagnostics feature so that users can analyze the performance of their Galaxy Buds.

In "Connected device diagnostics", the user can find the connected buds. By clicking on "Galaxy Buds2 Pro", available features for buds diagnostics will be displayed.

Earbuds diagnostics support seven important functionalities for users to check device health.
1. Check for Updates:
Users can check if there is any update necessary for the Galaxy Wearable app or Earbuds software. If the installed version is not the latest version available online, it will notify the user by showing the update needed. Users can easily update the software to the latest version.
2. In-ear detection:
In-ear detection is critical for many features of earbuds. Users can test in-ear detection of earbuds by wearing them and checking if the result shows normal.
3. Touch sensor:
To check if the touch sensor is working properly, users can check by tapping the earbuds.
4. Speaker:
Earbuds speakers can be tested when the user is wearing the buds by playing short music in left and right earbuds one by one and the user can give feedback for both.
5. Mic:
To check the earbuds mic, the user needs to record a short clip, then the buds will play the recorded clip so that the user can give feedback if the sound is normally audible. Left and right buds can be tested sequentially.
6. Cable Charging:
For testing cable charging, the user needs to put the earbuds in the case and keep the lid open and connect the cable for charging. Testing results will show normal if everything is properly functional, otherwise, it will show the action required.
7. Wireless Charging:
Wireless charging can be tested by putting the earbuds in the case with the lid open and placing the case on the wireless charger
Users can view the summary of diagnostics after finishing all the tests. It will show if any action is required by the user or if every functionality of the earbuds is normal. This feature has been released to the market for Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and helps users identify any functional or performance issues of their Buds by themselves.
